Hawks Swept by the Wolves

ROME, Ga. – The Shorter Lady Hawks basketball team (1-5) fell 91-62 on the road against the University of West Georgia in a conference game Sunday afternoon.

Christian Bolden led the way for Shorter with 18 points while Julia Peroni had 13 points and 8 rebounds. Ansley Barge and Baliee Usrey each contributed 10 points.

The Lady Hawks were down 55-28 at the half. The West Georgia Lady Wolves were 19 for 20 at the free throw line, which helped lead them to a win over Shorter. Tahya Campbell had 26 points for West Georgia. Lanee Edwards scored 23 points and had 8 rebounds while Valencia Carroll scored 15 points. Aniedi Nsentip had 15 rebounds for Lady Wolves.

The Lady Hawks return to action on Friday, Janaury 8th against Valdosta State University where tip-off is slated for 6 p.m. in the Winthrop-King Centre.
