CARROLLTON, Ga – The Lady Hawks (1-4) lost a tight one on the road Saturday afternoon in conference play against the University of West Georgia 78-72. Julia Peroni led Shorter with 13 points and 9 rebounds, supported by Kelly Pickett with 12 points and Jasmine Gaines with 11 points.
The Lady Wolves (3-1) came out ready to play a hard-fought back and forth game by both sides. This game was a physical matchup between both sides in a deadlock 30-30 at halftime. The Lady Wolves were led by Valencia Carroll with 15 points, Lanee Edwards with 14 points, and Jayda Dooley with 13 points.
The Lady Hawks battled it out, with the Lady Wolves coming up just short in the final 78-72. Both teams left everything they had on the floor this afternoon that set the tone for the matchups the rest of the season.
