Hawks brought down by the Bulldogs

Rome, Ga—The Shorter Men's Basketball team took on the Union University Bulldogs this past Saturday afternoon at Winthrop-King Center for another Gulf South Conference game. Shorter entered the half with a 33-32 lead on the Union Bulldogs. Well into the second half, the Shorter Hawks were not able to keep the lead against the three-point shots made by Union. The game ended with a score of 88-68 in Unions favor.

The Hawks start the week at 3-19 and 0-12 In the Gulf South Conference with the Bulldogs picking up a 15-7 and 9-5 GSC record.

The Hawks lead the second half with a 90.0% free throw shooting percentage and went 9-10 on free throw shots. They scored 32 points in the paint with 9 fast break points and 9 points off turnovers. Ja'Cori Wilson ended with a team high of 24 points and 5 rebounds. Frenki Lilaj had a game high of 13 rebounds while also putting up 15 points and shooting 100.0% on the free throw line with 5-5. Wilson went 4-6 on three-point shots and had 1 assist and 1 block. Lilaj had one block and lead the team with 4 assists.  

The Shorter Hawks take on Valdosta State University on the road this week on February 6th at 8pm.
