The Shorter Hawks (11-1, 1-1) where able to sweep the weekend against the Oakland City Mighty Oaks (1-4, 0-0) on Sunday. Shorter's offense kept on trucking from their performance in game 2, and the pitching staff kept up the good work like they had done all weekend.

Shorter got on the board first in the bottom of the second on an RBI from Justin Guyton ground out that scored Matt Christian, and they added another on an RBI single from Jakob Woods that scored Aaron Reardon. The score after two inning was 2-0 in favor of Shorter.

Ferriro added an RBI single later in the inning, on his second at bat of the inning, that scored Bailey Gerstner. Avendano scored on a wild pitch a couple of batters later, and Guyton added a 2 RBI single to left to bring the score to 12-1 Shorter after 5 innings.

The Shorter offense stayed hot in the sixth inning as well, Gerstner got the sixth started for the Hawks when he sent a ball over the fence in right field for a two run homerun, Gerstner's first home run of the year. Later in the inning Peter "Alex" Wittman drove in Ferreiro on a double to right, and Luis Acevedo scored Christian and Wittman on his 2 RBI single to center. The score after 6 innings saw Shorter with the lead 17-1.

Oakland City would score another run in the top of the seventh on an RBI ground out to second base by Tyler Roberts, and that would bring the score to the final score of 17-2.
