Game 1: Shorter 1, Oakland City 0

If you like pitching and defense game 1 of Saturday's double header between the Shorter Hawks (9-1,1-1), and the visiting Oakland City Mighty Oaks (1-2,0-0) was that and more.
 
Jonathon Pintaro got the starting nod on the mound for the Hawks, and Tristan Cummings got the start for the Mighty Oaks. Both pitchers threw a complete game, game 1 was a 7 inning contest, and both where commanding the strike zone well as only allowing 1 base on balls a piece.
 
The contest was scoreless through the first six innings, but Jakob Woods was able to hit a sacrifice fly to right field in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Hawks the win with a score of 1-0.
 
Pintaro was excellent on the mound for Shorter as he threw 7 innings, striking out 16 batters, and only allowing 3 base runners in the entire contest.
 
Cummings was good on the mound for the Mighty Oaks as well. Cummings threw 6.2 innings, striking out 4, and giving up the lone run of the contest.
