ROME, Ga – The Lady Hawks (1-3) dropped another hard-fought game at home on Saturday afternoon in conference play to the University of Montevallo 91-46. Kelly Pickett led shorter with 10 points, supported by Chatham Brown and Mariesha Welch with 8 points.
The Lady Falcons (1-3) came out playing a dominant first quarter leading Shorter 18-8, continuing their dominance to finish the half 40-12. Montevallo did not waste any time in the second half continuing their dominance led by the games leading scorer Savannah Lee with 14 points, supported by Marisa Snodgrass and Tiara McLeod with 10 points each in the game.
The Lady Hawks did not back down in the second half and battled it out to the final whistle, with 34 out of their 46 points coming in the second half. Coach Hughes and the Lady Hawks look to regroup and take on the new year. Shorter returns to action Saturday, January 2, against University of West Georgia, with tip-off at 2 p.m.
