Cleveland, MS- The Hawks were on the road tonight for the first game of 2020. Competing against the #25 ranked Lady Statesmen.
With a strong start the Lady Hawks scored 11 points in the first quarter against Delta State and 20 in the second quarter. That momentum kept up through the third quarter but fell when the fourth quarter came around.
Jasmine Gaines led the team in points scoring 17 points throughout the game with four assists and seven rebounds. Coming in close behind her,
Tatum Ragsdale scored 13 points for the Hawks, with one assist and seven rebounds as well.
Kayla Holmes led the team in free-throws making four out of six.
The Hawks scored four points from turnovers, two from fast breaks and the score was tied three times throughout the game. The final score was 92-65 Delta State at the end of the game. The Hawks have a chance at redemption in Mississippi when they take on the Mississippi College Choctaws on Saturday January 4
