Daytona Beach - Senior captain
Felix Guijosa's goal in the 88th minute completed a 3-2 comeback win over Sunshine State Conference opponent Embry-Riddle University Saturday afternoon.Â
Â
The Hawks rallied from 2 goals down when
Val Evans scored on a free kick to make it 2-1 at the half.Â
Â
The host team controlled much of the first period but the second half was a different story as
Jackson Wheatley scored the equalizer off a
Thallison Alex pass.  It was Wheatleys team leading 6th goal. The Hawks outshot ERAU 5–1 in the second half before Guijosa scored the winner on a Corner kick. Â
Â
"It was a tale of two halves and the strong tropical wind may of had something to do with that," said Shorter coach
Paul Furey. Â
Â
"They are a good team and they took it to us in the first half. Â But I'm so proud how we turned that around in the second half for a very satisfying come from behind win on the road " added Furey.Â
Â
Shorter (3-0) has won 3 straight to open the season and will be back in action Wednesday as they travel to Dalton State.Â
