Hawks edged 1-0 by CBU in Defensive Battle
Memphis TN - In a game that had only one shot in goal, the Shorter Hawks men's team lost a defensive battle to Christian Brothers in a Gulf South Conference matchup Friday night.
The games lone goal came just 8 minutes into the but stood as the difference as good scoring chances were limited for both teams.
Javy Flores plated well in goal for the Gawks despite not having a save.
The Hawks had a good chance late in the second half when
Thallison Alex got in behind the CBU defense and played a ball to
Felix Guijosa who could not redirect onto goal.
"We played tough against s tough good team," said Hawks coach
Paul Furey. "We just weren't sharp enough in the final third though we certainly put some pressure on late. We battled well (especially our back line) and never quit. I was really proud of our effort."
Hawks face Union Sunday in Jackson on Sunday
