With the loss, Shorter moves to 1-9 overall and 0-2 in the GLVC; while the Saints improve to 5-8 on the season and 2-2 in the conference play.

Maryville struck first, scoring the first goal of the game with eleven minutes to play in the first quarter. The Hawks tied the game just before the end of the quarter on the fourteenth goal of the year from Logan Miller for the 1-1 score to start the second frame.

In the second quarter, Shorter added two goals – from Jacob Woodard and Matt McHugh – to take at 3-1 lead into the halftime break.

In the third, Maryville cut the lead to one, before the Hawks made it a 4-2 game with a score from Chase Rogers. The Saints then tied the game on back to back goals to move to the final quarter with a 4-4 score.

The final period was all Maryville, as the Saints tacked on three goals – all from Owen Kehoe – for the 7-4 final score.
