ROME -- The Lady Hawks played to a 2-2 tie with Reinhardt Friday evening at home.

With the tie, Shorter moves to 1-1-1 on the season; while the Eagles go to 1-4-1 overall.

Reinhardt opened the scoring, netting the first shot they took as Jane Howell headed a ball past Shorter 'keeper, Sydney Durham, off a corner kick in the 10th minute. From there, the Eagles added four shots in the period, while holding the Lady Hawks to just two.

Down 1-0, Shorter rallied in the second half to tie the game, as Taylor Hendrix posted her second goal of the year ten minutes in. Only to have Reinhardt strike for the go-ahead moments later. But, the Lady Hawks answered in 72nd minute to tie things up, once again.

Tied with minutes to go, both teams scrambled for the winner, but settled for the tie, as each saw their chances come up short.

In total, the Eagles led in shots 17-12; while both tallied six on target. Each goalie turned in a complete game, 110-minute performance, with four saves each.

Shorter will now have a week to prepare for Gulf South Conference play, as Sunday's game versus Spring Hill has been postponed due to the forecast of inclement weather from Hurricane Irma.
