ROME -- The Lady Hawks fell to No. 17 Mississippi College, 2-0, Friday evening to start Gulf South Conference play.
Shorter moves to 1-2-1 overall and 0-1 in the GSC; while the Lady Choctaws improve to 4-0-1 on the year and 3-0 in conference play.
MC got the scoring starting, netting their first goal of the game on a shot from Lauren Kate Carter in the 28th minute, before tacking on a second in the 69th for the 2-0 score.
In total the Lady Choctaws held a 14-4 advantage in shots, with each of the Lady Hawks' coming in the first half.
Sydney Durham made one save in the game; while
Taylor Hendrix led the offense with two of the four shots. Both,
Amberly Halstead and
Corrie Thomas, added on each.
Shorter's women will be back in action Sunday afternoon, September 17, when they host Delta State at Ben Brady Field. Game time is set for 1:00pm.
