Cleveland, Tenn. --Â The Hawks fell to longtime rival, Lee University, 2-0 Friday evening from Cleveland, Tenn.
With the loss, Shorter moves to 3-7 on the year and 2-3 in conference play; while the Flames improve to 4-3-2 overall and 3-2 in the GSC.
Lee got on the board early, scoring their first goal of the night in the 15th minute, to take a 1-0 lead. An advantage that would stand until the final two minutes of the game when the Flames added a second goal for the 2-0 score.
In total, Lee outshot the Hawks 13-7; while holding a 6-1 advantage in shots on goal. Shorter 'keeper,
Sean Carpenter made four saves in goal through 90 minutes; while
Justen Macias led the attack for the Hawks with three shots, including the lone on goal attempt.
Shorter will have the remainder of the weekend off, and won't be back in action until Friday, October 6, when they welcome West Florida to Ben Brady Field for a 7:00pm start.
