Jackson, Tenn. --Â Union rallied for three late goals to down the Lady Hawks, 4-1, from Jackson, Tenn. on Friday evening.
With the loss, Shorter moves to 1-4-1 on the season and 0-3 in the GSC; while the Lady Bulldogs improve to 2-3 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
Union took a 1-0 lead in the first half on an own goal by Shorter 'keeper,
Sydney Durham, ten minutes into the game, and held the advantage through the remainder of the half and into the second. Before,
Taylor Hendrix, struck for her third goal of the year in the 57
th minute to tie the game 1-1. From there, it was all Union, as the Bulldogs tacked on three unanswered goals for the 4-1 score.
In total, the Lady Bulldogs outshot the Lady Hawks 31-7, while holding a 14-1 advantage in shots on goal. Durham tallied a career high ten saves in goal for Shorter; while Hendrix paced the attack with four shots, two on goal.
The Lady Hawks will look to rebound Sunday afternoon against Christian Brothers, game time is set for 2:00pm EST.
