Carrollton, Ga. --Â The Lady Hawks earned the 3-0 road win over West Georgia Friday evening.
With the win, Shorter moves to 13-8 overall and 6-3 in the Gulf South Conference; while the Wolves move to 2-21 on the year and 1-9 in conference play.
Set scores for the night were 25-22, 25-19, and 25-22, respectively.
For the match,
Morgan Cleveland and
Danielle Melton led the attack, turning in ten kills apiece; while
Tiffani Estep added nine and
Madeline Munroe chipped in with eight.
Tinsley Fain led the effort with 22 assists, to go along with 20 from
Iva Luther. In total, the Lady Hawks posted five aces in the game with two coming off the serve of Luther.
On defense,
Cheyenne McLemore posted a team high 15 digs, with Cleveland adding seven in the win. Whereas, at the net,
Kelsi Jones led the way with six blocks – one solo and five assists,
Hannah Flack was next with four – all assists.
The team has the week off before returning home to begin a five-game home stand with West Florida on Friday, October 27, at 6:00pm.
