Montgomery, Ala. --Â The Lady Hawks fell to Auburn Montgomery, 3-0, Sunday afternoon on the road.
With the loss, Shorter moves to 1-11-1 on the season and 0-10 in conference play; while the Warhawks improve to 5-8 overall and 4-6 in the GSC.
Agnes Edlund put AUM on the board first, scoring the first goal of the game in the 25th minute for the 1-0 score. After the halftime, the Warhawks added to it with two goals, both from Ruby Mendez, and both assisted by Edlund for the 3-0 score.
In total, AUM held a 21-14 in shots for the game; while holding an 8-4 advantage in shots on goal.
Corrie Thomas led the attack, tallying four shots, with
Taylor Hendrix recording three attempts and two each from
Fiorella Gamarra,
Maria Gonzalez and
Alexa Moore.
Sydney Durham and
Jamie Allen split time in goal, with Durham making five saves through 52:20 and Allen posting one save through 37:40.
The Lady Hawks return home next week for three Gulf South matches. First, as Spring Hill comes to town for a midweek match up on Wednesday at 3:00pm. Then as West Alabama and UAH visit Ben Brady on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
