Cleveland, Tenn. -- The Hawks opened the season on a positive note; topping Trevecca Nazarene 4-0 in the first game of the Lee University Olive Garden Invitational.
Making the most of his debut for Shorter, freshman
Darwin Lom scored the team's first goal – the first of his very young career – on a pass from
Nico Stutley just before halftime. After the break the Hawks extended their lead on a shot from
Fernando De Barros and kept things going as
Charlie Dennis netted his first two goals of the year in the 78th and 81st minutes, respectively.
Shorter tallied 14 shots in the game, with six on goal. The Trojans turned in 16 shots, but couldn't get past Hawks goalkeeper,
Austen Trevers, who stopped each of the shots that were on target.
With the first win under their belt, Shorter will look to keep the momentum going when they take on Emmanuel College at 4:30pm Saturday afternoon. Fans unable to attend can follow all the action at
