Valdosta, Ga. -- The Lady Hawks tallied their first Gulf South Conference win of the year, defeating Valdosta State on the road Friday afternoon.

Scoreless through the first forty-five minutes Shorter (4-3, 1-1 GSC) found what would prove to be the game winner just ten minutes into the second frame as Jen Rogers delivered her fourth goal of the year to put the Lady Hawks ahead.

Valdosta State (2-5, 1-2 GSC) outshot Shorter 7-4 in the game, but couldn't find the equalizer as Alden Powell posted her third clean sheet of the year for the Lady Hawks, making 3 saves in goal through 90 minutes of play.
