Gaffney, S.C. -- The Hawks fell to No. 8 Limestone Saturday evening, 3-1, on the road to move to 1-2-1 on the year; while the Saints improved to 3-0.
Limestone jumped out to an early lead as Sebastian Gregersen netted a pass from Harry Cooksley in the 19th minute to make it a 1-0 game. Just before the break, Gui Machado, found the back of the net for the Saints to extend their lead to 2-0.
The Hawks broke the shutout in the 71st minute on
Christopher Cummins' second goal of the year on an assist from
Charlie Dennis. Machado scored again for Limestone ten minutes later for the 3-1 final score.
In total the Saints outshot the Hawks 23-7 and 13-2 in shots on goal. While Shorter goalkeeper,
Austen Trevers made 10 saves through 90 minutes of play.
