ROME -- The Hawks fell to Alabama Huntsville 1-0 Friday evening at Ben Brady Field.
Despite outshooting the Chargers 18-10, and 8-4 in shots on goal Shorter (3-6-1, 1-2 GSC) couldn't find the go ahead to earn the win. Alabama Huntsville (7-3, 5-0 GSC) got on the board in the 26th minute as Guy Clennett netted a pass from Jon Michael Stern. The score would stand despite chances on both sides to extend the lead or find the equalizer.
Charlie Dennis tallied five shots in the game with two being on goal.
Mark Hanlon and
Nico Stutley added three shots each; while
Darwin Lom and
Fernando De Barros chipped in with two.
Austen Trevers turned in a complete game performance in goal for Shorter making three saves.
The Hawks will return to action and look to get back in the win column when West Alabama visits Ben Brady Field Sunday for a 3:30pm start.
