ROME --Â The Lady Hawks got back in the win column Friday evening, with a three set sweep of Alabama Huntsville to kick off a three match home stretch.
Set scores were 25-20, 25-20, 25-22.
With the win, Shorter moves to 11-7 on the year and 9-3 in conference play; while the Chargers slip to 16-9 overall and 7-6 in the GSC.
Tiffani Estep and
Elizabeth Dowd led the attack, tallying seven kills each; while
Madeline Munroe posted six and both,
BreAnna Thompson and
Alicia McClellan finished with five.
Cheyenne Frady dished out a team high 16 assists and
Dena Pierce recorded 11 in the win. The Lady Hawks also finished with six aces on the night with Frady and
Kelsi Jones serving up two each.
Cheyenne McLemore dug 13 to lead the team, while Dowd added 12. Shorter finished with eight total blocks on the night with McClellan coming up four solo and assisting on two.
The Lady Hawks will return to action Saturday afternoon when North Alabama visits the Winthrop-King Centre for a 2:00pm start.Â
