ROME -- The Lady Hawks made it two in a row with a 1-0 win over Union Friday evening to begin their final homestand of the year.
Despite being outshot 17-9 in the game and being held to just one shot in the first half, Shorter (7-8, 4-6 GSC) made the most of their chances in the second half as they edged past the Bulldogs 4-11-1, 4-5-1 GSC) on a goal from
Jen Rogers in the 66th minute on an assist from
Corrie Thomas. In the final 45 minutes, the Lady Hawks tallied eight shots, with three on goal.
Haley Lademann turned in her first clean sheet of the year with four saves on the night through a complete game performance.
Shorter will be back in action for the last time at home for the year on Sunday when they host Christian Brothers for a 1:00pm start. Prior to the game, the Lady Hawks will honor its seniors.
