Mobile, Ala. -- The Lady Hawks fell to Spring Hill, 3-0, Friday afternoon on the road.
The loss drops Shorter 4-5 on the year and 1-3 in the Gulf South Conference; while the Badgers earn their first win of the year and improve to 1-5-2 overall and 1-4 in conference play.
Spring Hill scored what would prove to be the game winner when Madison Camet found in the back of the net in the fifth minute, and four minutes later added some insurance on a shot from Hannah Michael. Just before the break, the Badgers added their final goal of the day for the 3-0 final score.
In total, the Lady Hawks outshot Spring Hill 18-16 with
Jen Rogers tallying six shots – three on goal and
Amber Miller adding four – two on goal.
Alden Powell made the start in goal for Shorter, allowing two goals through 17:17.
Haley Lademann played the remaining minutes of the game, allowing one goal and making six saves – all in the second half.
Shorter will look to get back in the win column Sunday, October 4, as they take on West Florida in Pensacola. Game time is set for 1:30pm Eastern.
