Pensacola, Fla. --Â The Lady Hawks fell to West Florida 61-51 on the road Thursday evening.
Shorter (5-4, 1-2 GSC) trailed the Argos by 34-20 at the break, but mounted a comeback in the second half.
Jackie Hudson netted a free throw with 9:05 to play to tie the game 47-47. But, West Florida (6-1, 3-0 GSC), pulled away in the final minutes; scoring 14 points down the stretch while holding the Lady Hawks to just four points through the remainder of the game.
Hudson was the lone Lady Hawk in double figures, turning in 18 points for the game. While the Argos were led by Brianna Williams; who tallied a game high 21 points. Katie Bobos added 13 points.
Shorter was held to a minimal 34% shooting in the game, and struggled beyond the arc; going 1-12 in the game.
The Lady Hawks will look to get back in the win column Monday as they travel to Valdosta State for a 6:00pm game.
