Franklin Springs, Ga. --Â The Lady Hawks are headed to Saturday's NCCAA South Region Championship after topping Emmanuel 2-0 Friday afternoon.
Shorter, who improves to 12-8 on the season with the win, will take on Point University tomorrow afternoon at 4:00pm in Franklin Springs, Ga.
Cintia Lamas put the Lady Hawks on the board in the 12th minute as she found the back of the net on an assists from
Tabea Kirchner.
Corrie Thomas added to the lead in the 38th minute as
Julia Raymond assisted on a goal to put Shorter up 2-0 before the break.
The score proved enough as the Lady Hawks were able to hold the Lions scoreless in the game. Shorter goalkeeper,
Alden Powell, played the complete game in goal, making one save on the only shot she faced.
In total, the Lady Hawks outshot Emmanuel 16-4, and 10-1 in shots on goal.
