ROME --Â The Lady Hawks fell to West Florida Sunday afternoon, 1-0.
Shorter drops to 6-3 on the season, and 2-3 in Gulf South Conference play. The Argos improve to 6-3 overall and 4-1 in the GSC.
Despite the loss, the Lady Hawks kept the game close, and turned in a good effort all around.
Shorter scored first, taking a 1-0 lead, on
Taylor Hendrix's second goal in as many games in the 47
th minute. Twenty minutes later West Florida tied the game, and earned the win on a goal from Svenja Burkhart in the 83 minute.
Alden Powell played the complete game in goal for the Lady Hawks tallying 4 saves in the game, while allowing the two goals.
The Argos out shot Shorter 18-4 on the day, but only recorded 8 shots on goal.
Shorter will return to action Tuesday at 6:00pm when Emmanuel visits Ben Brady Field.
