Huntsville, Ala. -- The Lady Hawks turned in their fifth straight win Tuesday night, topping Alabama Huntsville 3-1 on the road.
Game scores were 25-15, 21-25, 25-20, 25-15, respectively.
Shorter improves to 18-3 on the season, and 15-1 in the Gulf South Conference. While the Chargers move to 14-10 overall, and 8-8 in conference play.
Anna Graham led the offense for the Lady Hawks tallying a season high 18 kills in the match.
Erica Baker added 14, and
Elizabeth Dowd posted 11 in the win.
Cheyenne Frady dished out a team high 32 assists, and
Dena Pierce added 20 for Shorter.
Defensively,
Jasmine Crook led the way with 18 digs; while Dowd added 15, and
Cheyenne McLemore recorded 12. Baker posted 4 blocks in the game – 1 solo, 3 assisted – and Graham added 3 blocks, all assisted.
The Lady Hawks will return to action Friday, October 31, at 6:00pm when longtime rival, Lee University, visits the Winthrop-King Centre.
