Hawks win third straight

ROME -- The Hawks made it three in a row Tuesday night with a 2-0 non-conference win over Trevecca Nazarene at home.

Shorter improves to 6-7-1 on the season. During the last three game the Hawks have held opponents to just one goal, while scoring 11 of their own. The Trojans move to 5-8-1 on the season with the loss.

Reigning Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Week, Charlie Dennis, got Shorter on the board in the 25th minute as he netted his third goal of the year. Irvin Espinal tallied the insurance at the 59:48 mark on an assists from Robert Ochieng for the 2-0 final score.

Nicolas Ferrigno played the complete game for the Hawks in goal, making one save on one opportunity. Braydon Brown made eight saves through 90 minutes for Trevecca.

In total Shorter outshot the Trojans 25-6, and held the advantage 10-1 in shots on goal.

The Hawks will return to GSC play Friday and Sunday as they travel to Union and Christian Brothers. Before returning home next Friday, October 31, for the final game of the regular season against Lee.
