ROME -- The Lady Hawks cruised to their tenth win of the season Sunday afternoon with a 3-1 victory over Gulf South Conference foe Delta State.

Shorter (10-4, 5-4 GSC) got on the board first as Lora Bruce tallied her first collegiate goal on a header from a shot that hit the crossbar. Corrie Thomas extended the lead five minutes later with her seventh goal of the season. Delta State (2-10-1, 0-8 GSC) then cut the lead in half in the 18th minute on a goal from Erin Tucker.

Taylor Hendrix got into the scoring column in the 70th minute, netting a goal a feed from Kalley Estep, for the 3-1 final score.

Haley Lademann got the start for the second consecutive game for Shorter, tallying four saves through 90 minutes. Katie Swaine played the complete game for the Lady Statesmen, recording 10 saves.

All in all, the Lady Hawks outshot Delta State 25-8, and 13-5 in shots on goal.

Shorter will return to action Friday, October 24, as they travel to Jackson, Tenn. to take on Union University at 6:00pm eastern.
