Valdosta, Ga.—While the Hawks were playing football at home for Homecoming, Lady Hawks' volleyball was taking on another Gulf South Conference rival on the court. Unfortunately for both, the outcome was the same; as Shorter fell to the Blazers 3-0 on the road, and dropped to 0-3 in conference volleyball play.

Set scores in the game were 25-23, 25-21, and 25-21, respectively. Shorter and Valdosta State were able to keep things close as they saw 12 tie scores through the three sets of play.

Jasmine Crook led the Lady Hawks in both kills and digs, recording 11 kills and 14 digs. Erica Baker finished the day with 10 kills; while Tanequa Whitman chipped in with 11 digs.

Cheyenne Frady came away with a match high 32 assists for Shorter.

The Lady Hawks will be eager to turn things around as they travel to West Georgia on Tuesday, October 1, for a 7:00pm start.
