Women's soccer drops season finale to Lee, 3-0

Box Score By Karen Allen

Cleveland, Tenn.-- Women's soccer ended the season Friday night with a 3-0 loss to Gulf South Conference newcomer, Lee University.

The loss gives the Lady Hawks a 6-12 overall record for the season, and a 2-8 conference mark.

Lee scored twice in the first half to take a 2-0 lead into the break and added to that in the second frame as Summer Lanter netted her second goal of the game to give the Lady Flames a 3-0 victory. Lee, in their first season of NCAA Division II play, turned in an 11-3-1 overall record.

Taylor Hays played her final game as a Lady Hawk, and made five saves on eight shots faced.

Overall, the Lady Flames outshot Shorter 22-8.

Eight of the Lady Hawks' nine seniors saw action during the game; which proved to be a disappointing ending to many great careers for Shorter.

Aline Tamiosso finished her tenure with the Lady Hawks third on the all-time goals scored list with 20 after tallying seven this year. Moving into the fourth spot was Kelli Davis who notched five goals on the season for 18 overall. Hays made 74 saves in goal for the Lady Hawks this season to end her career with 334 career saves and most all-time; while also adding one shutout to give her 10 during her career and most by a Shorter goalkeeper.
