FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga.- The Shorter Women's Soccer team dropped their road contest to Emmanuel on Wednesday afternoon in a 6-1 defeat. The loss drops the Hawks to 1-10-1 overall and 1-8-1 in conference.
The Lions opened up the scoring in the 10th minute with a goal to gain the early advantage. Shorter continued to fend off a multitude of shots from the hosts, struggling to contain their offense. Just before half,
Gianna Estavillo gave Shorter some momentum, recording her fifth goal of the season to cut the deficit in half. Estavillo's five goals are the most a Hawk has had in a season since Taylor Hendrix recorded five herself in the 2017 season.
Despite the strong close to the first half, the Hawks could not contain Emmanuel, allowing four goals in the second period, falling in a 6-1 final.
