Livingston, Ala.--Shorter women's soccer fell to West Alabama, 2-0, on the road Friday evening.
The loss drops the Lady Hawks to 4-6 on the season, and 1-2 in Gulf South play.
West Alabama got on the board at the 32:38 mark when Nicki Gears netter the first goal of the game. Four minutes later Katy Morris scored for West Alabama to make it a 2-0 game. The score would stand throughout the remainder of the game, as the Tigers recorded the 2-0 win.
Taylor Hays made seven saves during the 90 minutes of play for the Lady Hawks, while Issy Foster made three saves for West Alabama.
Despite being shut out by the Tigers,
Aline Tamiosso led the offensive attack for Shorter, making three shots.
Kelli Davis added two shots and
Helena Farinha recorded one.
West Alabama outshot the Lady Hawks 15-6 through the game.
Shorter will be back in action Sunday afternoon, as they continue the road trip at defending national champion and current No. 8 West Florida in Pensacola, Fla. Game time is set for 4:00pm.Â
