Noel Carper

Noel Carper enters his eleventh season as head assistant coach for the Shorter University volleyball program in 2015. Alongside head coach Jon Moseley, Carper has helped the Lady Hawks to an impressive 116-55 record and the program’s first-ever Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament championship in 2007.

Prior to arriving at Shorter, Carper coached the club volleyball team at Berry College before it developed into an intercollegiate varsity program.

Carper played competitive indoor and beach volleyball for 12 years, winning numerous tournament titles.

Carper is a black belt in American karate and has taught karate and self-defense classes in addition to a variety of physical education courses for 12 years, the last seven of which have taken place at Shorter.

For 16 years, Carper has served as a certified lead instructor and facilitator of ropes and other challenge courses for leadership development and team building with businesses, school groups and other organizations.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Pre-Law from Berry in 1985 and his Master’s in International Relations from the University of Georgia.
