Shorter University Athletics

College Career:
Karisma started 30 of 31 games played in 2012 – 13 and led team with 11.5 points (358 points for the season), 3.5 assists, and 2.1 steals per game, while averaging 4.6 rebounds per game which was third on the team.  Karisma played over 35 minutes a game and led the team in scoring 10 times and five times in rebounding from her point guard position….hit game winning three pointer versus Union University…..scored season high 23 points in NCCAA Region championship game versus Emmanuel College……was selected to the NCCAA South All-Region Team and to the NCCAA All-American Team….was also selected by her teammates as the Most Valuable Offense and Most Valuable Defensive player for 2012 – 13.  Karisma transferred to Shorter University from Georgia College and State Univ. where she started 28 of 29 games…..helped team to a 22 – 7 record and a conference tournament championship…..averaged 7.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 4.8 assists while averaging just over 34 minutes a game....played freshman season at NCAA Div. I Jacksonville State Univ. where she started all 29 games….averaged 8.4 points and 3.6 rebounds a game and led the team with 44 steals and 83 assists.
 
High School:
Karisma helped Carrollton High School to a 116-10 record during her four-year career…CHS set a school record for victories with a 32-2 record her senior year…she earned four letters under coaches Shon Thomaston, Travis Thomaston and Joey King…averaged 12.8 points, five assists, 3.5 steals and 2.8 rebounds and shot 48 percent from the floor her final year for the Trojans…helped CHS to three region championships, four state finals, two final fours and two elite eight appearances, winning two state titles and a runner-up finish during her career…the Trojans won 51 consecutive region games before falling in the 2008-09 region title game and went 54-2 in region play and 45-0 at home during her career.

Born August 2, 1991….daughter of Bobby and Teresa Boykin….two siblings, Kadesha and Tyrone…majoring in Sports Management.
