Marcus Hunt Jr. enters his third season in 2024 as the Assistant Coach for the Shorter University Women’s Basketball Program.

Prior to being hired, Hunt served as an Assistant coach at Blue Mountain College [now Blue Mountain Christian University] for 2 years (2020-2022). During this time, Coach Hunt recruited and coached the 2022 SSAC Freshman of the Year, Carmen Taylor. As well as two other All-Freshman team players, Charmen Taylor and Crystin Guy.

Hunt, a Memphis, Tenn. native, was a Memphis Home Education Association (MHEA) boy's team assistant from 2013 to 2018 and a girl's team assistant since 2018. Hunt helped develop five Homeschool All-Americans during his time at MHEA, along with garnering a national championship.

Hunt earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry at The University of Memphis and his master’s in management from Shorter University.
