Wade Anderson

Wade Anderson is entering his eighth year as the head men’s basketball coach at Shorter University

In 2017, Shorter University and Dr Dowless gave Coach Anderson his first head coaching opportunity. Coach Anderson arrived in Rome, Ga with over a decade at two other GSC institutions and over 14 years of college coaching experience.

After 8 years in Pensacola, the Lord opened the doors in 2015 for Coach Anderson to join the Mike Nienaber and the coach staff at Christian Brothers University in Memphis, TN. In 2016-2017, Coach Anderson helped guide the team to an 18-13 overall record with a 14-8 GSC record and an appearance in the NCAA tournament.

In 2007, University of West Florida came calling and Coach Anderson returned to where his coaching journey had begun. He was named the head assistant coach for Don Hogan and the Argo basketball team. After two seasons in 2009, Don Hogan left to become the associate head coach at Coastal Carolina University. The Panhandle coaching legend and UWF alumni Bob Stinnett was hired, and Coach Anderson stayed on as the head assistant. In, 2011-2012, Coach helped guide the Argos to a 19-11 record and a 4th place finish in the GSC tournament.

The Lord then guided Coach Anderson to Faulkner State Community College in 2005 to become the assistant coach to the legendary head coach Jack Robertson. During his two years at Faulkner State, he helped build a roster that would win over 35 games in two seasons, including a regular season ACCC Southern Division Championship.

After Graduation in 2003, The doors of coaching were opened for Coach Anderson to attend grad school and joined the coaching staff of head coach Don Hogan and the University of West Florida. Coach Anderson graduated in 2005 with a Masters in Exercise Science.
Coach Anderson attended Pensacola Christian College from 1999-2003. Majoring in Physical education. He also lettered in 4 years of college basketball for the Eagles.

Coach Anderson has been married to his wife Ashley for 14 years
