Attended Chattooga High School, where he played for head coach Roone Gable... Earned Atlanta Journal-Constitution First Team All-State honors... Named Offensive Lineman of the Year... Earned First Team All-Region honors all four years of high school... Served as a team captain.

Son of Shawn and Kayla Reece... Grandson of Becky Curtis... Has seven siblings, Ryan Reece, Kaydence Reece, Nolan Reece, Brantley Hawkins, Amberlei Curtis, Logan Curtis and Felicity Curtis... Chose Shorter because it is close to his hometown and because of the relationships he developed with the coaching staff...
