Attended Mount de Sales Academy, where he played under head coach Gray Yates... Earned All-Region honors... Also competed in track and field, winning a state championship in the long jump and recording a 10.9-second time in the 100-meter dash.

Son of Donovan and Davishala Williams... Chose Shorter because the coaching staff believed in him.
