Shorter University welcomes Tyray Devezin to Shorter as the newest Running Backs coach for Hawks football program. Devezin comes to Shorter from River Ridge High School where he served as Running Backs coach and coached a rushing attack that ran for over 1,000 yards on the season. Devezin is a Mercer University alum, playing football for the Bears. He went on to be 2nd in program history in rushing yards (2,187) and 3rd in touchdowns (20).
Devezin earned his degree in Sports Marketing and Analytics from Mercer University in 2021. During that time, he helped the knights earn a GHSA playoff birth with a 7-3 record. After finishing his internship Coach Ray began training college athletes preparing for pro days. Worked with 2 current XFL players and 1 current NFL UFA rookie.
Devezin then assisted at his high school Alma Mater with the Etowah High School track team. He was able to help provide excellent knowledge and coaching assisting with triple and long jumpers. He helped coach a state qualifying triple jumper for men’s and women’s.
Tyray Devezin is a Georgia Native, attending Etowah High School where he played 3 sports for the Eagles and was an All-State performer
