Shorter University Athletics

Tim Glanton enters his second season with the Shorter Football program in 2026 after joining the Hawks' coaching staff in 2025. A Georgia native, Glanton brings more than three decades of coaching and education experience at the high school and collegiate levels.
 

A three-sport standout at West Rome High School, Glanton helped the Chieftains capture back-to-back state football championships in 1982 and 1983 before graduating in 1984. He earned a scholarship to West Georgia College, where he was a four-year letter winner at wide receiver. Glanton earned his Bachelor of Science in Recreation Management with an additional certification in Health and Physical Education.
 

Glanton began his coaching career in 1990 at Thomasville High School before stopping at Calhoun, Coffee, and Tift County, where he worked with running backs, quarterbacks, and wide receivers. He earned his first head coaching opportunity at Brooks County High School, guiding the Trojans to the state quarterfinals in his first season.
 

Glanton later served as offensive coordinator at Paulding County, helping lead the program to a state semifinal appearance. He then spent three seasons as the head coach at East Paulding before becoming the first head football coach at South Paulding. In 2013, South Paulding honored Glanton's impact on the program by naming its football venue Timothy D. Glanton Field.
 

In 2013, Glanton joined Kennesaw State University as part of the staff tasked with building the Owls' inaugural football program. Serving as special teams coordinator and running backs coach, Glanton helped develop multiple All-Conference running backs and specialists while contributing to Kennesaw State's emergence as a consistent contender.
