Randall Taylor enters his first season as the Tight Ends Coach and Director of AI at Shorter University after coaching at different levels of collegiate football and serving as a successful offensive coordinator at the high school level.
Prior to joining Shorter, Taylor spent two seasons as the Offensive Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach at Estero High School (Fla.), helping lead the program to 13 wins, two playoff appearances, and 7,675 total offensive yards with 89 touchdowns. During his tenure, the offense broke nine school records, produced 12 All-Area selections, and two All-State selections.
In 2025, Estero averaged 35.5 points per game while totaling 53 touchdowns (30 passing, 23 rushing). Under Taylor's direction, QB Maddox Stewart set school records for single-season passing yards (2,741), single-season passing touchdowns (30), and career passing touchdowns (56). WRÂ Kegan Kreuscher established school records for single-season receptions (69), receiving yards (965), receiving touchdowns (15), career receptions (114), and career receiving touchdowns (27).
Before Estero, Taylor served as the Offensive Line Coach, Video Coordinator, Summer Camp Coordinator, and Social Media Coordinator at Hiram College in 2023. The Terriers averaged over four yards per play, recorded the program's fourth-fewest sacks allowed in the previous decade, and saw seven different players score rushing touchdowns.
Taylor also coached tight ends at Dickinson State University, where the Blue Hawks won the conference championship with an 8-0 conference record and advanced to the NAIA National Playoffs. The offense led the conference in total points, points per game, total offense, yards per game, and first downs while averaging 35.1 points per game, ranking among the top 15 offenses nationally. He also coached Galen Brantley III to All-Conference honors.
A native of Naples, Florida, Taylor began his coaching career at Ave Maria University after a three-year playing career as an offensive lineman. As a player, he helped the Gyrenes capture the 2018 Sun Conference Championship and earned Academic All-Conference honors three times. Following an injury, he transitioned into coaching, first as the assistant offensive line coach before coaching tight ends in 2022. That season, Ave Maria set a program record with 1,581 rushing yards, while true freshman Brock Summers earned Second Team All-Conference recognition under Taylor's guidance.
Taylor earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Ave Maria University and a Master of Sports Administration from Dickinson State University.
