Shorter University Athletics

Keith Otis was promoted to Run Game Coordinator as of July 2026, while continuing to serve as Shorter University's Offensive Line Coach.

Otis enters his second season with the Hawks after joining the Shorter staff in 2025. Since his arrival, he has helped establish a physical identity in the trenches. Under Otis' direction, the 2025 Shorter offense led the Conference of Carolinas in rushing, averaging 187.5 yards per game. Otis' offensive line room produced three All-Conference selections — Isaac Walls (First Team), Jukorin Thomas (First Team) and Jacorey Wright (Second Team) — while Isaac Walls was also named the 2025 Conference of Carolinas Offensive Lineman of the Year.

Prior to joining Shorter, Otis served as the Offensive Line Coach and Run Game Coordinator at South Atlanta High School, where he developed offensive linemen and helped establish a physical identity within the program.  He previously served at Judson University as Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Line Coach, where he helped develop 3 All-Conference offensive linemen (1st Team; 2nd Team; Honorable Mention). Otis also spent time at Trinity International University, serving as Offensive Line Coach and Run Game Coordinator before moving into an Interim Head Coach/Offensive Line Coach role.

A native of Chicago, Illinois, Otis began his football career as a collegiate offensive lineman at Northern Illinois University, where he played right tackle for the Huskies, winning the 2011 MAC Championship.  His experience as a Division I player continues to influence his approach to offensive line development, combining technical instruction with the physical and mental demands required to play in the trenches.
