Attended Woodland High School in Cartersville, Georgia, where he played under head coach Andy Scott... Earned First Team All-Region honors as a junior and Second Team All-Region recognition as a senior.

Son of Josh Collins... Has one sister, Gretchen... Chose Shorter because of the welcoming environment and relationships he developed with the coaching staff, which made the University feel like home.
