Attended McIntosh High School, where he played under head coach Derek Smith... Set school records for career rushing yards and single-season rushing yards, breaking the single-season mark in consecutive years... Named GHSA Class 5A Athlete of the Year... Earned First Team All-Region honors and was named Fayette County Ironman of the Year.

Son of Monique Johnson and Bryon Ridley... Has two sisters, Kera Grier and Brianna Ridley... Chose Shorter because of its balance of academics and athletics, welcoming coaching staff and close-knit campus community.
