ROME, Ga.- The Shorter Women's Soccer team fell to Belmont Abbey on Saturday afternoon in a 5-0 loss at Ben Brady Field. The loss drops Shorter to 1-6 overall.
Shorter held off the Crusaders in the opening minutes, playing strong defensively to start the contest. Belmont Abbey unfortunately got on the board in the 29th minute to take the lead. Shorter's defense remained strong as they entered the half down a goal.
The Crusaders offense found their footing in the second half, scoring four unanswered as Shorter struggled to stop their high-powered attack, and the Hawks fell to a 5-0 defeat.

The Hawks will take a break from conference play this Wednesday as they welcome Emory & Henry for a 3 p.m. match.
