NASHVILLE, Tenn.- The Shorter Volleyball team fell to Trevecca Nazarene on the final day of the Ray Thrasher Classic on Saturday night in straight sets (15-25, 9-25, 20-25) inside Trojan Fieldhouse.
The Hawks fell behind early in the opening set, as the Trojans built their lead. Shorter battled hard to cut the deficit, but it would not be enough as the Trojans took the opening set. The hosts continued to roll in the second set, jumping ahead by as many as 16 to extend their lead. Shorter fought back in the third set after falling behind 4-0, going on a 7-2 run to claim the lead. The Trojans made a late push that would prove too much, despite another push from Shorter, as the Hawks fell in straight sets.
Caroline Sivills led the Hawks with four kills, while Helena Kelly led with 11 assists. Defensively, Kelley led Shorter with seven digs, while
Caitlyn Sutton and
Brooke Thao recorded six digs themselves.
