Volleyball Announces 2026 Schedule

ROME, Ga. – Head Coach Taylor Watson announced Friday the 2026 schedule for the Shorter University volleyball team.
 

Shorter enters the 2026 season after posting a 16-14 overall record and a 12-8 mark in Conference Carolinas play a year ago.
 

The Hawks will begin the season with an exhibition match at Miles College on Aug. 21 before traveling to Nashville, Tennessee, for the Ray Thrasher Classic, hosted by Trevecca Nazarene. Shorter will open tournament play against Christian Brothers and Alabama Huntsville on Aug. 28 before taking on host Trevecca Nazarene on Aug. 29. Following another exhibition contest against Berry College on Aug. 31, the Hawks head to the USC Aiken/Augusta Invitational. Shorter will face USC Aiken and Carson-Newman on Sept. 4 before wrapping up the tournament against Lander and Augusta on Sept. 5.
 

The Hawks will open both their home schedule and Conference Carolinas slate on Sept. 9 against Emmanuel before traveling to face UNC Pembroke on Sept. 11 and Francis Marion on Sept. 12. Shorter returns to Rome to host Southern Wesleyan on Sept. 15 before a two-match road swing at Mount Olive on Sept. 19 and Young Harris on Sept. 23. The Hawks will then host Chowan on Sept. 26 and former Gulf South Conference rival Montevallo on Sept. 29.

 

The road continues with conference matches at North Greenville on Oct. 2 and King on Oct. 3 before Shorter returns home to host non-conference opponent Georgia College on Oct. 6. The Hawks will then travel to Erskine on Oct. 9 and Converse on Oct. 10. A three-match homestand follows as Shorter welcomes Young Harris (Oct. 13), Lees-McRae (Oct. 16), and Belmont Abbey (Oct. 17) to the Winthrop-King Centre. The Hawks then travel to Emmanuel on Oct. 21 before closing the home schedule with five consecutive matches against Ferrum (Oct. 23), Barton (Oct. 24), Augusta (Oct. 27), North Greenville (Oct. 30), and Erskine (Oct. 31).
