ROME- The Shorter Women's Tennis team fell Saturday afternoon in a 4-3 defeat to Lees-McRae. The loss drops the Hawks to 8-8 overall and 2-4 in conference.
Shorter battled in doubles, as
Caroline Johnson and
Danielle Hernandez earned the 6-4 win in the #3 spot. Unfortunately, the Hawks could not grab a win, as they lost the doubles point.
Shorter began to rally in singles as
Lady-Ester Villanueva Rosado earned a dominating 6-1, 6-2 win in the third line, followed by a 6-3, 7-6 win by
Danielle Hernandez in the #5 spot. Shorter and Lees-McRae continued to trade, as
Caroline Johnson dominated in the sixth line 6-1, 6-0. Unfortunately, the Bobcats rallied and claimed the final point as the Hawks came up short in a 4-3 defeat.

The Hawks will return to play on April 1 when they travel to Young Harris for a 1:00 PM match.
