YOUNG HARRIS, Ga.- The Shorter Women's Lacrosse team fell to Young Harris on Wednesday afternoon in a 17-8 defeat. The loss drops the Hawks to 2-9 overall and 2-3 in conference action.
The Hawks fell behind early, as Young Harris netted nine goals in the opening frame to take the early advantage.
Kaitlyn Dwyer-Peppers and Anderlyn Buford got the Hawks on the board in the second quarter, as the pair recorded a goal to put a dent in the lead. The hosts would add three more goals to make it a 13-2 lead at halftime.
The Mountain Lions continued to pour it on, scoring four more goals in the third quarter to extend their lead. The Hawks showed great fight in the final period, outscoring Young Harris 5-1 with goals from Buford,
Shyla Araujo, and
Maggie Wallace. Despite a strong effort, the Hawks fell in a 17-8 defeat.
